Overview of FELICITY: Finite ELement Implementation and Computational Interface Tool for You
Shawn Walker, Louisiana State University
Digital Media Center 1034
November 04, 2014 - 03:30 pm
Abstract:
I will give an overview of a MATLAB/C++ toolbox (FELICITY) I have developed that provides a framework for solving PDEs with the Finite Element Method (FEM).  In particular, I will explain the philosophy behind FELICITY (such as code generation), give a tutorial on solving some elliptic problems, and describe some details on how it is implemented.

Speaker's Bio:
Walker is an assistant professor jointly in the Mathematics Department and the Center for Computation & Technology (CCT) at Louisiana State
University. He received his PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his research interests include mathematical modeling and PDEs for moving/free boundary problems, finite element methods, mesh generation, and PDE-constrained (shape) optimization.
