LOG IN TO MyLSU
Home

The primary goal for the seminar series is to increase student awareness of the importance of computational approaches to modern biological research. Traditional biology majors may receive no training in or exposure to computational techniques, yet such skills are fast becoming de facto requirements for many careers in the life sciences. Some secondary goals are to: (1) encourage students to take classes, do research, and seek out online resources that allow them to cross the boundaries between biology and computation, (2) raise awareness of the computational biology research being done at LSU and around Louisiana, (3) encourage students to consider careers in computational biology, and (4) encourage students in computational disciplines to consider careers in computational biological research.

Sponsored by: LSU Department of Biological Sciences and the Center for Computation & Technology.
Hosted by: Drs. Jeremy Brown and Michal Brylinski
