EA Sports to Host Meet-and-Greet with Students
EA Games
Johnston Hall 338
October 02, 2008 - 02:00 pm
Abstract:
Electronic Arts Inc., or EA, will host a campus meeting Thursday, Oct. 2 to talk with students seeking careers in the video game industry. The EA meeting will take place at 2 p.m. in the Center for Computation & Technology Training Room, Johnston 338. Students will learn about success factors in working for EA and can discuss specific job opportunities, particularly for the upcoming North American quality assurance and testing facility set to open on LSU's south campus. Faculty also are welcome to attend and learn more about EA's university partnership programs and expanding curricula in digital media. EA, the world's leading independent video game developer and publisher, announced plans in August to build its quality assurance complex at LSU, where workers will test upcoming sports titles such as Madden NFL, Tiger Woods PGA Tour and NCAA Football before they hit the market. This center will create 20 full-time jobs and more than 200 part-time jobs, many of which will be occupied by LSU students. There is no cost to attend the meeting, and refreshments will be provided. For more information, please contact the Baton Rouge Area Digital Industries Consortium office at 225-389-7182. For information on job opportunities with the EA center in Baton Rouge, please visit www.jobs.ea.com.
