The LSU Center for Computation & Technology, LSU Department of Physics & Astronomy and LSU College of Science are organizing this Conference to honor and remember our colleague Jonathan Dowling, who passed away on June 5th, 2020. Professor Dowling was one of the foremost experts in quantum technology, particularly for exploiting quantum entanglement (in the form of a NOON state) for applications to quantum computing, quantum metrology, quantum sensing, and quantum imaging. He additionally contributed to fields such as photonic band-gap structures, quantum optics, foundations of quantum mechanics, boson sampling, and quantum networks. Let us gather together to honor the many ways he has contributed to science, our research, and our lives.
