January 2008: XiRel Workshop
LSU hosts the first XiRel workshop.
 
November 2007: Jian Tao joins LSU as XiRel Postdoc
Having completing his studies towards a PhD in Computational Astrophysics at Washington University, Jian Tao joins the LSU group
as a postdoc to become the core researcher for XiRel.
September 2007: XiRel Award from NSF
LSU, PSU, and RIT receive awards (0701566, 0653303) totalling $360K for their collaborative XiRel: A Next Generation Infrastructure for
Numerical Relativity project. The award from the Physics at the Information Frontier solicitation is supported by the Division of Physics in the Mathematical and Physical Sciences Directorate and by the Division of Computing and Communication Foundations in the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Directorate. at NSF . The award runs from
September 2007 to August 2010.
