Finalists for the first Red Stick Animation Awards, to be chosen at the Red Stick International Information Festival April 21-23 at the Shaw Center for the Arts, have been announced. The Old State Capitol and Louisiana Art and Science Museum will also host some festival events.
Finalists in professional category of 2D animation are Seed Animation Studio, Ltd.; Mark Simon and Travis Blaise; Ya-Ting Gray; Bu Hua; and Marta Tesoro. Student finalists are Brett Rutland, Arie Stavcheansky and Holly Klein.
Finalists in professional category, 3D animation, are Dmitri Mangisgalli, Yeon Chio, Lu Haiyan and Zhang Zhiyii, Zhou Xu and Jung Chi Gwang. Student finalists are Jeffery Scheetz, Jun Sang Yoon, Mathias Schredck and Mark Hotz, Johannes Weiland and Robert Kuczerua.
Professional experimental animation finalists are Brian Evans, Kristine Burns, John Burns, James S. Hegarty and Yeon Choi. Student finalists are Luis Castillo, Keum Taek Jung and Alex Chung.
Finalist for animation for games was directed by Graham McKenna and Jan-bart Van Beek.
