LSU's Center for Computation & Technology tripled the computing capacity of the Southeastern Universities Research Association's regional grid service by adding the school's largest current supercomputer, SuperMike.
The Research Association is a consortium of more than 60 member universities across the Southern United States. One of the association's main collaborative research projects is SURAgrid, a large-scale, regionally distributed grid that links the schools' supercomputers.
Ed Seidel, director of LSU's Center for Computation & Technology, helped develop the grid.
