Louisiana's flagship university is getting some national and international recognition, and it's not on the gridiron. Recently, LSU's E.J. Ourso College of Business Administration was named one of the top regional business schools by The Wall Street Journal. LSU was ranked ninth on the list, which is based on what corporate recruiters think of business schools. Dean Robert Sumichrast, his faculty, staff, students and advisory board should be very proud of this outstanding recognition. Chancellor Sean O'Keefe says the ranking is a sign that LSU's national flagship agenda is working. And just last week, Ed Seidel, director of LSU's Center for Computation and Technology, won the Sidney Fernbach Memorial Award, one of the world's most prestigious awards in the field of computational sciences. Seidel, who came to LSU from Germany's Albert Einstein Institute in 2003, will receive the award this month at the 2006 Supercomputing Conference. This is the kind of talent LSU attracts to our state. It should certainly instill pride in every LSU alum and Louisiana citizen. Remember, "Forever LSU."
