BATON ROUGE --- Electronic Arts Inc., or EA, will host a Rock Band Tournament Thursday night, Sept. 25, at the Roux House on Third Street in downtown Baton Rouge. The tournament begins at 6:30 p.m. There is no cover charge to attend.
The Baton Rouge Area Digital Industries Consortium, or BRADIC, is assisting EA to host the tournament so interested participants can meet EA representatives, learn more about EA’s presence in Baton Rouge, or ask about job opportunities at the upcoming North American quality assurance and testing facility set to open later this month on LSU’s south campus.
EA, the world’s leading independent video game developer and publisher, announced plans in August to build this complex, where workers will test upcoming sports titles such as Madden NFL, Tiger Woods PGA Tour and NCAA Football to test them before they hit the market. This center will create 20 full-time jobs and more than 200 part-time jobs, many of which will be occupied by LSU students.
“We have had a lot of interest from the community in working for the EA testing center, and this gives everyone a chance to talk with EA employees and learn what it’s like to work in the video game industry,” said Stacey Simmons, BRADIC executive director.
