Pats on the Back:

  • Mayank Tyagi gave a talk on April 13, 2012 at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, WA. The talk addressed simulations of a variety of subsurface porous media flow processes at different length scales. This visit also explored building long-term collaborations between LSU and PNNL (Fundamental & Scientific Computations Directorate) in the areas of high performance computing applications to challenging problems.
  • Jorge Pullin was invited to speak at the University of North Carolina Wilmington on April 12-13. He gave two talks titled, "Quantum gravity: An incomplete revolution in physics" and "Loop quantum gravity: Status and recent results for cosmology and black holes."

Lectures this Week:

FRIDAY –

There will be a Core Expertise Faculty Candidate lecture titled, “Speeding Up Nek5000 with Autotuning and Specialization” by Jaewook Shin, Hewlett Packard. The lecture will take place Friday, April 20th at 10:30 AM in 338 Johnston Hall.

Employees who make meal purchases without prior approvals may find that they must cover the cost of any monies spent for an unapproved event out of pocket. Dine-in restaurant meals are not allowed on LaCarte credit cards. Please contact Susie McGlone (susie@cct.lsu.edu) prior to any special meal with visitor(s) to file the appropriate request for approval. Prior approval could take up to two weeks, so please plan accordingly.
