Big honor for professor: Edward Seidel, an LSU astrophysicist, has been named as director for the National Science Foundation's Office of Cyberinfrastructure, which deals with services such as supercomputers and mass-storage systems. Seidel, the director of the LSU Center for Computation & Technology, says the new post will allow him to continue his work at LSU while addressing issues on a national level.
