On March 19 and 20, students from schools in the Baton Rouge area attended a workshop at the Shaw Center for the Arts to prepare short films for Baton Rouge’s annual Red Stick International Animation Festival which will take place downtown between April 16 and 19. The part of the festival in which students participated was Animation Collaboration for a Cause, which involves artists working closely with school-age children from Louisiana to help them to create animation about their experiences with issues. This year’s theme is natural disaster preparedness, and Baton Rouge area students have collaborated with students from Pakistan and Uzbekistan on the project.
