Event runs next week in Baton Rouge
Science and art might seem to be at opposite ends of the spectrum, but to the creative mind, they are logical companions.
Imagine the two worlds colliding in a dance of color, motion, technology and music. That’s what visitors will experience at next week’s annual Red Stick International Animation Festival.
The event takes place Wednesday-Saturday, Nov. 10-13, at several locations, including the Shaw Center for the Arts, Manship Theatre, Louisiana Old State Capitol and the Louisiana Art & Science Museum. It brings together writers, animators, artists, directors and students from the worlds of business and entertainment.
The result is an explosion of film screenings, guest speakers, workshops, special events, and much more, according to festival director Stacey Simmons.
“This event contributes to our overall entertainment-friendly culture in the capital region,” Simmons said.
“It showcases Baton Rouge to visitors from around the world, and highlights what we have to offer the entertainment business.
“It gives us some fantastic ambassadors in the world for how wonderful our city is, and what a great place it is to live, work and do business.”
