The Sci-An Awards, honoring excellence in international scientific animation, is partnering with the Red Stick International Animation Festival, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for its 2010 awards, being held this November 10-13.
 
The Sci-An Awards were first held in 2009 in Guiyang China, with awards being presented to HBO, National Geographic, Jannis Productions, and Nucleus Medical Art.  
 
Entries are being solicited for scientifically accurate 2D and 3D animation created to enhance the understanding of science.
 
Awards will be given this year in categories of Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences, with expanded categories added next year. A special Achievement Award will also be presented to an organization that advances and exemplifies the field of scientific animation.
 
Deadline for submissions is October 15th 2010.
